4. User Responsibility & Output Verification

ScrubBeforeAI uses heuristic regular expression matching to detect and redact sensitive patterns (such as API keys, environment variables, database strings, and emails).

Because regex matching cannot cover every possible proprietary secret format, you bear sole responsibility for verifying the redacted output before pasting it into ChatGPT, Claude, or other generative AI platforms.

Do not assume the tool has caught 100% of your secrets. Always perform a quick visual review of the redacted window prior to clipboard copying. ScrubBeforeAI provides a visual diff view to help you verify exactly what was redacted, and we strongly recommend using this feature before copying sanitized output.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScrubBeforeAI and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the service.
• Any failure of the redaction engine to detect or redact a particular secret pattern.
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data by third parties after you have shared it externally.
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the service.

6. Intellectual Property

The ScrubBeforeAI name, logo, design system, regex pattern library, and all associated content are the intellectual property of ScrubBeforeAI. You may not use our trademarks, trade names, or branding in any manner that could cause confusion or that disparages ScrubBeforeAI without prior written consent.

Content you process through ScrubBeforeAI remains entirely your property. We claim no ownership over any text, code, or data you paste into or generate using the tool. Because all processing occurs client-side, we never have access to your content.
